The Search Customer form implements a filter. It finds a subset of the customer records that match the search criteria you enter. The number of records that match your search specification are displayed down at the bottom of the screen on the status bar. You can also do searches by using built-in features found on the menu bar, such as find record, and filters/sorting. This form is provided for convenience in doing the most common searches. You can also find a customer by receiver using another form.

Search Type: Press these radio buttons to specify how the field is searched. Exact is the fastest, but you have to be really careful about how you enter the search criteria. Matching from the start of the field is nearly as fast as exact, gives you a little room for error, but the search may find more records than you really want. Matching anywhere may be somewhat slow (although computers are so fast you may not notice it), and gives you the most flexibility.

Fields you may search: The fields you most commonly used to search records are displayed on this form. If you put information in more than one field, all the search criteria must match for a record to be included in the results. Example:

Additional Notes: Search Button: Press this button to effect the search. A filter based on your specification is applied to the customer records, so the Customer Form displays only the records matching your search criteria.

Clear Search Spec Button: Press this button to clear all the search information you have entered.

Close Button: Press this button to close the search form without making any changes to the current customer form filter.

Remove FilterButton: Press this button to remove the filter applied when you did a search.

Hand Thingy: See? It really works!!
